1950
dino art grossmann first saw the light of the world in Heidelberg.
His early years were already characterized by fantasy, ideas, and ingenuity and he preserved these abilities in the long-term – even though time and again they will earn him the reputation of a dreamer in later years.
1968
Successful completion of the apprenticeship as precision watch maker in Baden-Baden. Here the foundation for the most precise craftsmanship was laid, however there was little leeway for personal creativity.
1971
Subsequent successful completion of the optician apprenticeship in Ludwigsburg. Here along with acquiring professional skills the fine sense for perfectly fitting eyewear, for materials and for aesthetic sensitivity were refined.
1975
Establishment of DinoArtGrossmann eyewear manufactory. Creativity and imagination as well as knowledge of the perfectly fitting eyeglass frame are intended to lead to production of his own collection of finest most exclusive eyewear. With courage and daring, there is a lot of experimentation with forms, surprising material combinations and innovative colour effects. In short, a new style of eyeglass frame was created that resulted in the first DinoArt collection in the same year. They are presented at well respected trade fair stands that are also designed with attention to detail, and are very well received.
1977
Development begins on a surface electroplating method for acetate. In the same year a proprietary publication about eyewear for five faces is released. In the gallery you will find the first chapter prepared in WEB-optimized format.
1978
For the first time metal frames are offered with colour coating, stove-enamel finish or even covered with leather.
1981
The idea of diversifying eyewear especially with colour variations so that they individually highlight the personality of each wearer leads to the cécile collection. The technical basis: special acetate plates, distinctive grooves, the proprietary surface electroplating method developed starting in 1977 as well as the 100 base colours for the electroplating technique to manufacture the decisive chromatic shades. Every cécile eyeglass frame, whether in daring colour combinations or sedate elegance, is unique handmade product.
Recognition of the dino art grossmann eyewear manufactory and its collections grows continuously, even internationally. Numerous travels as far as Japan and the impressions made by the most diverse cultures expand awareness and inspire new approaches.
1983
The new PHILO CO collection is aimed mainly at younger eyeglass wearers.
1991
The CLG my own series appears for the first time in limited editions. The series of sophisticated and extravagant eyeglass frames spectacularly subsume the experimental highlights of all previous collections.
1999
dino art grossmann is awarded a prize for his cécile collection at the Milan eyewear trade fair MIDO. In the same year the vic collection is released. Based on the PHILO CO models they are aimed at a wider public with their more classic lines.
2012
The cécile collection is entirely redesigned. It is re-launched under the name ci-celle.
2021
– back in Germany for private reasons.
2025
For more than five decades dino art grossmann eyewear manufactory has continuously introduced exclusive collections. They reflect the spirit of the times, without conforming to the mainstream. Dino Art Grossmann is far ahead of his times simply too early with some ideas, a “ destiny “ with which he will just have to live.
